For those of you who have been following me, you all know that the transition from Southern California to the Pacific Northwest has been a definite challenge for me. From the beautiful beaches, lack of snow, wineries, and a hop to Mexico has made coming to Spokane extremely tough to get used too. However, we have had the most wonderful summer. Being in a four season climate has really taught me to appreciate the six months of absolutely gorgeous weather we have.
From pumpkin spiced lattes and plaid jackets in the fall; to winter boots, cute touques (that’s the Canadian right there), and mountain skiing in the winter; to pastel colored outfits and flowers blooming in the spring; and most importantly to lakes, boating, pools and all the wonderful things summer has to offer has made the challenge of a four season climate much less challenging.
We had our wonderful Canadian friends kick off the summer with Canada Day & Fourth of July and we have had endless, non stop pool and lake days with the kids. I had the opportunity to spend some time with my family in Nelson, BC which is only 3 hours from Spokane and then took a plane ride to Seattle to enjoy some much needed time with a dear friend and enjoy Taylor Swift.
This summer has taught me that we really only get 18 summers with our children and we really need to take the time to enjoy the weekends, spend as much time in sunshine, and invite ourselves over to friends’ pools!
If you’re ever interested in visting Spokane, WA leave me a message and I would be happy to tell you all the wonderul things there are to do up here in the Pacific Northwest.
