Over the thanksgiving break, we were heart broken to say goodbye to our beloved great grandmother, Edna Roske. She has been a pillar in our family and a constant gentle touch and warm hug whenever you needed. She bonded with our children so closely that the most difficult part of all of this was explaining to them that they weren’t going to see her again. We were so unbelievably lucky that she came to stay with us for two weeks and enjoy some much necessary family time.
I have never been this close to experiencing someone pass. Especially someone I was so close too. I would spend hours watching tv shows with her, talking to her, hanging out with her, gardening with her — you name it, her and I did it. She enjoyed multiple graduations with us, our wedding, our baby showers, the birth of all of our children, christmas celebrations, new years and many other events.
Everytime I think abot her, I still can’t believe that she isn’t alive and I can’t believe that someone we cared so deeply for, and someone we valued so much has passed. I am so thankful for the daughter she raised who I get to call my mother in law, and the grandson she raised who I get the fortunes of calling my husband. There is literally not one human being who doesn’t have something nice to say about her and that just goes to show how loved and kind she was.
I am going to miss you so much Edna and I pray that I see you once again, in heaven. You are now our angel from above watching over us and making sure that we are all ok.
