National Daughter/Son Day

Last month was full of the best moments! Not only was it Deaf Awareness Month for September but it was also National Daughter and Son day! For those of you who have been following me know that I have both a daughter and a son and it was so great getting to celebrate them both!

Inaara is 3.5 years old and has been thriving with her cochlear implants. She has changed so much from her terrible two’s to becoming such a warm, compassionate and brilliant little girl. She is maturing into her role as a big sister and takes such good care of Halden. She is always following him around the house saying she is the mommy and he is her baby. It has been so great to watch these two littles grow into loving eachother and playing with one another.

Halden is now 20 months!! He has been speaking more, imititating what we are saying, doing everything to annoy his little sister, and learning to play more independently. The kid eats like you’ve never seen before (definitely going through a growth spurt). His new favorite word is “mommy” which definitely pulls on my heart strings because he will say my name all day for everything, compared to when his favorite word was “daddy”. He has become so snuggly and just all around so loving and warm to be around. The tantrums still exist and the emotional outbursts, but with that comes so much love once he’s settled down.

I absolutely love watching these two grow. It is challenging as a mom of two when I need to go places because they both get so heavy to carry around and it can be hard managing two different personalities. Sometimes no matter how much time you get to yourself it never feels like enough, but I honestly couldn’t imagine not being around them. They are the loves of my life, and I am so grateful to be able to spend such quality time with the two of them.
