Dental Practice Purchase

I did a thing: I bought my very own dental practice!! I’ve been hinting at it the last few posts, but it has finally happened. The moment is surreal. I took over the practice on Monday, December 5. It has been extremely challenging. Admin work is no joke. The dentistry feels effortless and fun. The sale went really smoothly. The previous owner was so easy to work with, he made the transition seem-less. The previous staff have been amazing to work with – they have really helped me come into my own as a business owner and have provided me with a wealth of knowledge on what it takes to run a practice.

We have made many changes: switching the phone boards, software company, and not to mention cleaning out the entire office. This is our new home, and we want it to feel like home without breaking the bank! We are going to be installing a pano/CBCT unit and I just purchased my very own primescan!

I think what I love most is that every single piece of equipment, instrument, bur is my very own. No one is here to tell me that I can’t use something, or it’s too expensive, or we can’t stalk things that we don’t need. I am in full control. I can’t wait to share more about our office, but for now, I am loving this transition.

However, not everything is rainbow and butterflies – it is hard. I have anxiety almost every night about something that I am forgetting, and cleaning out a space that has stuff from 2-3 doctors before is not easy, but making something into my own is a feeling that any new business owner can understand.

Stay tuned for updates!

xx
